Why SSAS?

An AJ Bell Platinum SSAS gives its members options that just wouldn’t be available in a ‘normal’ pension. It allows them to invest in everything from cash deposits and quoted equities, to fixed interest stocks, collective investments and even UK commercial land and property.

If SSAS members do choose to invest in UK commercial property, they have the potentially lucrative option of leasing it back to their associated company or a third party. They can also borrow from, or lend to, their associated company on commercial terms, or just borrow from a commercial lender.

When you retire, your SSAS keeps working for you

• You can draw a pension from the fund after age 55 (57 from 6 April 2028) using flexi-access income drawdown.
• A proportion of the benefits can be paid as a tax-free lump sum.
• Cash can be taken from the fund whenever you need it, part tax-free, part taxed.
• There’s no requirement to purchase a lifetime annuity, but if you want to, you can do so at any time.
• We quote fees on a case-by-case basis, commensurate with the level of work involved for each SSAS.
